Dominique McDowell, CAS1/RLPS, serves as the Director of Addiction and Recovery Services at Marin City Health and Wellness Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in the Marin/San Francisco area. With over 15 years of experience in substance abuse counseling and addiction recovery, Dominique specializes in treating opioid dependency and chronic inebriation. His foundational education includes an Associate of Arts in Community Health Work with a focus on Public Health and Substance Abuse from City College of San Francisco, where he was actively involved in the Second Chance Program, supporting formerly incarcerated individuals. Dominique is also a certified Relapse Prevention Specialist through Gorski-CENAPS and holds certifications from the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals, specializing in conflict resolution, harm reduction, and housing support for active users.
Since 2016, Dominique has led addiction and recovery programs tailored to marginalized populations at Marin City Health and Wellness. He also owns and manages JustUs SLE, a sober living environment in San Rafael that provides a supportive community for men re-entering society after incarceration or treatment. Previously, Dominique served as a counselor and case manager with the Ritter Center, focusing on high-risk clients and offering comprehensive support, including housing assistance and behavioral health referrals. Additionally, his background includes work with Providence Health & Services, where he managed chronic disease and harm reduction programs targeting HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI awareness.
